VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) is a state-owned enterprise responsible for the exploration, mining, and marketing of various minerals. Operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of Energy, Petroleum Division, Government of Pakistan. PMDC invites applications for the following post on open contract basis.

Position: Deputy Manager (Geophysics)

Qualification: 

Bachelors/Masters degree in Geophysics, Applied Geology, or Earth Sciences from an HEC-recognized institution.

Experience:

Relevant 5 years post-qualification experience in conducting, analyzing, and interpreting geophysical surveys for mineral exploration/ geophysical exploration Experience in operating geophysical instruments and software-based data analysis will be preferred.

Age: 35 Years

Key job Responsibilities:

1. Operate and manage geophysical instruments and equipment, including seismic, magnetic, and gravity measurement tools.
2. Perform routine maintenance and calibration of geophysical equipment to ensure accuracy and optimal performance.
3. Design and execute geophysical survey programs to collect data on subsurface geological structures.
4. Collect, analyze, and process geophysical data using specialized software to develop accurate geological interpretations.
5. Provide interpretations of geophysical data to identify geological features. subsurface structures, and potential mineral deposits.
6. Implement quality control measures to ensure reliability and precision of geophysical data collected during surveys.
7. Identify and resolve discrepancies or technical issues encountered during data collection and analysis.
8. Integrate geophysical data with geological and mining information in coordination with geologists, mining engineers, and other professionals. 
9. Compile comprehensive technical reports detailing methodologies, findings, and recommendations for exploration and development activities. 
10. Keep abreast of advancements in geophysical methodologies, technologies, and industry best practices.
11. Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations governing geophysical operations and data collection
12. Uphold and promote safety standards during all fieldwork and equipment operations.
