VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT


QUAID-E-AZAM CHAIR IN PAKISTAN STUDIES 

AT UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY, USA.

The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, in lieu of MOU signed with the University of California, Berkeley, USA, is inviting applications to fill the position of "Quaid-e-Azam Chair in Pakistan Studies" at the University of California, Berkeley, USA.


BASIC ELIGIBILITY:

1. Rank of Associate Professor or above with experience of working in public or private universities in Pakistan.

2. PhD degree from a HEC-recognized university/institution in humanities or social sciences.

3. iii. Atleast 10 years teaching/research experience in a recognized university / center research organization.

4. Atleast 10 relevant publications in HEC-recognized journals.

5. Must be a Pakistani Scholar.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

1. Having strong communication skills especially in English language.

2. Familiarity with the culture, institutions, and people of the host country.

3. Capacity and competence of leadership to project the language, history, and culture of Pakistan in the host country.

4. Carrying out independent research symposia/seminar, research grant management, organizing conferences/workshops and social outreach to promote Pakistani culture.

5. Experience in mentoring, advocacy, communication, diplomacy and experience in dealing with public forums.

6. Membership in professional or academic bodies, supported by documentary evidence.

7. Proficiency in computer skills.

8. Should have social as well as interpersonal skills to project a positive image of Pakistan.


TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

1. The tenure of the appointment will initially be for a period of two (02) years on a deputation basis/ contract basis, extendable to a maximum of three years on a yearly basis, subject to quarterly performance reports submitted by the scholar.

2. The pay and allowances would be equivalent to BS-20 or BS-21 on the prescribed terms and conditions of the Government of Pakistan.

2. The prescribed proforma can be accessed by visiting Ministry's official website www.mofept.gov.pk. 
3. Applications received after the due date will not be considered.

4. Those already in Government / Semi-Government service are required to apply through the proper channel.

5. Only short-listed candidates will be called for interview.

6. No TA/DA shall be admissible for an interview.

7. The Ministry reserves the right not to fill the vacancy without assigning any reason thereof.
