VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
ALLAMA IQBAL VISITING FELLOWSHIP
AT THE CENTRE OF SOUTH ASIAN STUDIES, UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE
The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, in lieu of MOU signed with the Centre of South Asian Studies, University of Cambridge, is inviting applications to fill the position of "Allama Iqbal Visiting Fellowship" at the Centre of South Asian Studies, University of Cambridge, UK.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
- A PhD degree in a relevant research area in the humanities or social sciences.
- Will have an excellent record of teaching and research and will normally be at the level of Associate Professor or above
OTHER REQUIREMENTS :
The visiting fellow will
- Conduct academic work on Pakistan studies under the auspices of the Centre of South Asian Studies, University of Cambridge.
- Will foster academic links between the University and the Pakistani academic community.
- Will engage with students and scholars on Pakistan's history, culture, people, national and regional languages, eminent literary figures, geography and regional, economic and political environment in line with the academic requirements of the University.
- Will engage with University academic staff in the teaching of Urdu, Pakistan Studies, Pakistani Literature, history, society and culture at the University.
- Will interact with the academic community of the University with a view to positively contributing to the relations between the Pakistani academic community and the University.
- Will be encouraged to attend the weekly seminars held at the Centre of South Asian Studies during the academic year and other academic fora on relevant issues in the University.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
- The tenure of appointment will initially be for a period of three (3) years which is subject to evaluation on a yearly basis.
- The pay and allowances will be on standard terms and conditions of the Government of Pakistan

- Applications received after the due date will not be considered.
- Those already in Government/ Semi-Government service are required to apply through the proper channel.
- Only short-listed candidates will be called for interview.
- No TA/DA shall be admissible for an interview.
- The Ministry reserves the right not to fill the vacancy without assigning any reason thereof.
