VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad, offers a challenging opportunity for employment as the Chairperson in the Pakistan Climate Change Authority, a corporate body working under the Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination, Islamabad. Applications are invited from citizens of Pakistan, possessing the following qualifications and experience:

Chairperson, SPPS-I, Number of Posts = 01

Qualification & Experience

The Chairperson shall be a scientist, academician, professional, serving or retired government servant, industrialist, agriculturist, or other technocrat with at least ten (10) years' experience in fields related to climate change and the environment, with a distinguished service record.

Qualification: PhD or Master's degree holder in Climate Change, Environment, Finance, Management Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Law/Policy, or other degrees relevant to Climate Change & Environment.

Maximum Age: 58 years

Terms & Conditions:

Disqualification: No person shall be eligible for appointment as Chairperson who:

• has been dismissed, removed, or compulsorily retired from service as a consequence of disciplinary proceedings;
• has been convicted by a court of competent jurisdiction for an offence involving moral turpitude or corruption and/or
• is a beneficiary of the National Reconciliation Ordinance, 2007 (LX of 2007). 
• Civil Servants/Government Servants may, subject to eligibility, apply for this position through proper channel. Their applications will be dealt with in accordance with terms and conditions incorporated in the Special Professional Pay Scale Policy.
• Persons employed under SPPS Scales shall submit to the Government an affidavit declaring their non-involvement in any other relevant business/job, which may be tantamount to a conflict of interest.
• Applications must be submitted on the National Job Portal (NJP) link (www.NJP.gov.pk) within 15 days from the date of publication of this advertisement. Applications received thereafter will not be entertained.
• Detailed TORS and shortlisting criteria can be seen on the Ministry's website (https://mocc.gov.pk/).
• Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.
• The Ministry reserves the right not to fill in the advertised post without assigning any reason.
• No TA/DA will be admissible to candidates called for test/interview.
• All the terms and conditions of service given in the Pakistan Climate Change Act, 2017, rules/regulations made under the Act, and the Special Professional Pay Scales Policy, as amended from time to time, will be applicable on the Chairperson of the Authority.
